I’m trying to think of what to write.
Or where to begin.
First of all, I had a birthday.
I’ve got three more years until I freak out, curl up in a ball and sob all day about how old I am and then run out and buy a red convertible. Maybe not.
We had a great day celebrating and I feel truly blessed and thankful. I say “we” because I’ve figured out that once you have kids, your birthday isn’t really about you anymore. It’s more of a family event. And I love it! Renn wrapped up random stuff from around the house for gifts, Caroline and LC made me tickets for free foot rubs, and Allie sang “Happy Birthday” to me about 147 times. Perfection.
We also went to Brio out at the mall for dinner. All seven of us (Nana is in town visiting). Usually I break out in hives and start shaking at the thought of all of us going out to dinner somewhere other than Chick-Fil-A. But. We had such a wonderful time and the kids were very well behaved.
In other news, we made an ER trip with Renn the weekend we put up our Christmas tree.
Why do I have that association?
Because he tried to EAT AN ORNAMENT.
I’m pretty sure LC was somehow involved — maybe an enabler — because it is surely one of the dumbest things I’ve ever heard of.
He was wondering if he could bite the ornament like an apple and swallowed a little piece.
He’s totally fine.
We also had Allie’s Christmas program at preschool this week. Y’all, it is so cute and I borderline cry every year. It’s hard to believe that this was our 8th Christmas program at our preschool.
Shouldn’t we get preferred seating by now?
Just a thought.
Anyways. Allie was precious and stood on the stage waving and yelling, “Hi, Mommy!” the majority of the time. Love it.
In other news, 3 out of 4 kids have a cough.
LC is especially under the weather. She started tanking Thursday night and is getting worse by the hour. I took her to urgent care last night to get checked for flu and strep and both came back negative. But I have to be honest. I’m not very confident that they got good swabs on either of them. Especially the strep. LC is a HORRIBLE patient at the doctor and basically flips out over a strep test. She didn’t have much of a fever yesterday but woke up this morning and it is approaching 102. Y’all, what should I do? I’m thinking call the pediatrician’s office this morning and see if they can recheck her today. Poor LC is miserable. It really does sound like flu. She coughed all night long. (Yes, my babies sleep in my bed when they are sick. Except for Allie. She sleeps with me every night.)
So that’s about it for now. I need a second cup of coffee.
